about me

My name is Peggie Biessmann.  I was born in Ireland and have lived in Dublin, London and a small town in Germany before retiring to Ireland where I live by the sea.

I've been writing for most of my adult life and have had a few short stories and articles published.  I got the itch to write a novel some years ago and have been hammering away ever since.

My novel Freefall was one of the winners of the Novel Fair 2012 held by the Writers' Centre in Dublin It was chosen along with 19 other novels from around 580 entries so I am pretty proud of that achievement even though it did not find a publisher. However, I revised it, gave it a new name and have now self-published it as A MAN CALLED GREGOR.

All of my novels are available as ebook or as paperback.

I published my novel Spate of Violence on Amazon in spring 2013.

I write under the name P.B. Barry for my crime stories which are centred around Sergeant Alan Murray and set in the lonely Kerry mountains. Death in a Lonely Place was the first in the Sergeant Alan Murray series. I published the second novel Ending in Death some weeks ago and I am working on a third novel in this series.

Writing under the name Peggy O'Mahony I have published two novels in my Sunshine Cafe series:
Love at a Later Date which tells the story of two young-at-heart grandmothers, Ginny and Deirdre, who have to re-build their lives and Love at Close Range which tells Deirdre's story and also Chloe's experiences at close range to her brother-in-law who she is secretly in love with.

I also published a Christmas novella Christmas at Castledarra.

I'm currently working on my next Christmas-themed novel.
